Basically, a phrasal verb is a verb plus a preposition.
Sometimes two prepositions, a bit like to look up and it has a literal meaning, like look up.
Sometimes phrasal verbs have an idiomatic meaning.
To look up a word means to find the word in a dictionary.
You can also have to look up to someone.
Up preposition, to preposition.
I look up to my father, meaning I admire and respect that person.
