Today's word is dawdle.
Dawdle means to waste time, move slowly, or dilly dally.
Dawdle is one of my favorite words, because I am a consummate dawdler.
I am late to everything, I get easily distracted, and I hate to rush.
When I was a kid, my dawdling got so bad that even though I lived across the street from school, I still took an hour to get home.
Because I would dawdle.
I would stop and talk to the old ladies in their lawn chairs.
I'd look at the moss and the leaves.
I'd look at the sky and make animals out of clouds.
Dawdling, for up to an hour, which should have been a five minute walk.
