'The Senate Needs a Soul'

[MUSIC] (SINGING) When you walk in the room, do you have sway?

I'm Kara Swisher, and you're listening to "Sway." Reverend Raphael Warnock made history last January when he was elected Georgia's first Black Senator.

It was a critical victory benefiting from strong voter turnout in Georgia that helped flip the state blue and helped Democrats clinch a Senate majority.

But Warnock is up for re-election again this year.

And I want to understand how the reverend, with less than two years in the Senate under his belt, will be able to hold on to his seat.

I was also curious about Warnock's unique path to political office, a marked shift, or maybe not, from being the pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.

It's a story he traces in his recent memoir, "A Way Out of No Way," which may be how the Senator sees the fight ahead.

Senator Warnock, welcome to "Sway." Great to be here with you.

Thank you.

So talk about the book itself, "A Way Out of No Way," writing it.
